chairbed bentwood no. 02
by Architekt Krischanitz
Adolf Krischanitz was born in 1946 in Schwarzach/Pongau (A). He studied architecture at the Technical University in Vienna. In 1970, Krischanitz founded the Missing Link association together with Angela Hareiter and Otto Kapfinger. He taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1974 to 1987. Krischanitz has been working as a freelance architect in Vienna since 1979. Krischanitz designed numerous international buildings intended for art and cultural purposes with offices in Vienna and Zurich (CH).
The bentwood collection by architect Krischanitz uses bentwood not just as a light and elemental base material but also as a design element for creating four types of furniture with striking traits and specific uses and connotations. The chairbed bentwood no. 02 with its body-moulded wave form and stretched mesh brings respectability to idleness. The optional neck cushion provides extra comfort.
